about

Album one of the two album set, "Tales from the Two Hill Heart / Sibylline Machine". This is not a single album spanning two disks, but rather two distinct albums with their own personalities and aural atmospheres.

i've got a black cat bleeding on my left hill. perrenial flowers blowing on my right. i don't know what time the train left the station but it's coming down the middle tonight. it's a 2 hill heart and its hard to heal. it's a matter of time before the beats turn still. latasha stops by in the evening...sees me working on the graveyard shift. i told her how much i missed the light in her eyes, now they're so heavy they can barely lift. have you met momma's mouth? it is as grimey as the south. she's a successful girl who says yes anytime you ask if there's a man to impress. i got dressed for the better life. i even got a new house and i bought a wife. there is a horse in the mezzanine. he's waiting for my part in the final scene. if i can only remember the line. whenever i grab the reigns i'm gonna kick his behind. i'm getting out of this 2 hill heart. i'm heading to the mountain of tears for a new start.

about

The Channel Austin, Texas

The Channel sound is a mix of psychedelic, pop and western tones. This is very much a family band, and the five primary members share songwriting duties and take the lead on their respective tunes. Their albums have all received national praise and college radio airplay, but their relative reclusiveness has kept the band very much under the radar while developing a strong cult following. ... more
